MTD have partnered with HF&P to create an industry leading initiative to help Speedy's customers, the nations leading contractors, reduce cost and carbon. This has led to Speedy gaining real competitive advantage and customer approval.

Background

Speedy is the UK leader in tool and equipment hire company for construction, an industry that wrestled with the twin problems of increased environmental pressure and recession. Enhancing environmental credentials and reducing cost and carbon were crucial in winning increasingly competitive construction tenders.

Solution

As part of our Getting Greener campaign, we developed ‘GO’ (Green Option) an industry leading initiative to reduce cost and carbon. It includes a range of products with proven environmental benefits and measurable savings in energy and carbon. Now, uniquely, Speedy’s customers can choose the Green Option and at the same time demonstrate their commitment to the environment in tool hire.

Results

The GO Initiative received over-whelming customer approval, from the nations leading contractors to the hundreds of sub contractors that support them. The GO Initiative is expected to win many awards and the early signs are that at a commercial level, customers recognise the added value that Speedy represents and as a result are increasing Speedy’s volume, yield and share of business.
