When Four Pillars Hotels launched The Old Boathouse, a contemporary gastro pub at the Cotswold Water Park Hotel, they needed an identity and suite of marketing material that would embody the stylish nature of the venue and attract both hotel guests and locals.
Originate
We needed to create an identity for The Old Boathouse which would reflect the contemporary nature of the venue and also work harmoniously with the 'natural' theme of the Cotswold Water Park resort. Having established an identity which successfully achieved both objectives, we used this across collateral ranging from signage to menus.
Integrate
As well as applying the identity to internal collateral, we implemented an advertising strategy to raise awareness amongst locals, and a data capture strategy to maximise revenue from regular customers. The data capture elements consisted of two simple, but highly effective devices – a business card drop and a bill holder. These have enabled us to build a database which will form the basis for a future customer contact and relationship management strategy.
Accumulate
Despite the downturn in the pub/restaurant trade, The Old Boathouse has remained very busy since its opening and has been fully booked for the majority of weekends. The data capture strategy has enabled The Old Boathouse to build an effective customer database, which is constantly growing and will be used to inform customers of offers and drive footfall during quieter periods such as midweek.
